Global Ivory Ban - Due to the CITES allowance of a once-off legal sale of ivory stockpiles in 2008, the world has witnessed a staggering increase in elephant poaching and the illegal trade in ivory. Fast-forward to 2015, where thriving legal and illegal ivory markets exist, and this iconic species is now under threat of extinction within a generation. As no universal legislation exists, many are unclear as to what is considered to be legal versus illegal trade, leading to a world of confusion and leaving elephants in crisis. A full global ban on the ivory trade law will make enforcement far easier and send a clear signal to the rest of the world that ivory has no value in the market. Ivory belongs to elephants! http://www.globalivoryban.org/
